HMC TO MONACO
The Great Escape classic and performance car hire fleet goes all over the place with hirers but none have gone quite as far as our HMC Healey did in 2010. Superyacht builders Pendennis decided to take part in the annual RWD classic car Tour to Monaco and chose our beautiful HMC MkIV for the trip.
The HMC, of which only 167 were ever built, joined other classic rarities such as a Ferrari GTO, Alvis and Austin Healeys on the 1000 mile trip to the South of France. En route the group stopped at various car haunts before arriving at the casino in Monte Carlo where the cars were parked up outside.
The HMC apparently performed faultlessly and despite collecting a few extra French flies on the way arrived back at our Inkberrow site in one piece. The car was well received by the two drivers who took it down to Monaco. Despite the retro looks - which ape the 1960s Austin Healey - it has a modern spaceframe chassis, 3.9 litre V8 fuel injected engine, power steering, five speed synchromesh gearbox, high quality waterproof hood and even heated seats. So it is an excellent choice for long distance touring.
