MGB V8 joins the Cotswolds fleet
Great Escape Classic Car Hire has created the largest fleet of MGs for hire in the UK with the addition of its seventh MG for hire. The new car is Great Escape's fifth MGB for hire and is a 1971 chrome bumper convertible finished in Nightfire Red with black leather interior. And a thumping 3.5 litre Rover V8 engine.
The new car replaces Great Escape Classic Car Hire's existing Teal Blue 1972 MGB convertible for hire in the Cotswolds - this car has now been moved to Great Escape's new East Midlands fleet.
The Nightfire Red MGB has been professionally converted to Rover V8 power and restored to a very high standard. Although most MGs were made with the venerable 1800cc four cylinder engine, towards the end of production a small number of MGB GTs were factory fitted with the Rover V8 engine, primarily aimed at the American market. Due to US legislation concerning convertibles, MG never fitted the convertible with the V8 engine, but many owners have made this conversion subsequently and it is a well acknowledged upgrade to the MGB. For many, the addition of the V8 turns the MGB into the car it was always meant to be. The V8 is lighter than the 1800cc engine so the handling is not adversely affected by the larger engine.
The new MGB for hire in the Cotswolds is available to rent by the day, week or weekend. Every hire day includes a full 24 hours use, unlimited mileage, insurance for 1 driver (extra drivers are £25 each) and full AA nationwide breakdown cover.
