New MGB V8 joins the fleet
Great Escape Cars has added this beautiful 1974 MGB V8 roadster to its hire fleet. It's available to hire with any of our classic car hire packages including our popular 60 minute tasters, road trips, driving trails and traditional self drive hire.
The latest addition to the UK's largest classic hire fleet adds a lovely twist to the popular MGB. Instead of the robust 1800cc MGB engine it's fitted with the superlative 3.5 litre Rover V8, a throaty, free-revving unit that gives the car 170 bhp and a sweet exhaust note. The engine is matched to a 5 speed gearbox, which makes the car easy and relaxing to drive.
MG fitted the V8 Rover engine to the MGB GT, but it was never officially available from the factory in the roadster. This is a shame because the V8 engine transforms the MGB into a proper sports car with a lovely sound track.
The Great Escape Cars MGB V8 is a professional conversion so the car drives and runs as it should, with uprated rear axle and brakes.
"Many MG fans believe that the MGB should always have had the Rover V8 for the roadster as well as the convertible," explains Graham Eason of Great Escape Cars. "And now we can see why. A properly sorted V8 conversion like this transforms the B into a real sports car."
The new addition is available for self drive hire or can be driven on one of Great Escape Cars' popular road trips. It's also available on the firm's 60 minute Classic Taster experiences. To find out more call 01527 893733 or visit www.greatescapecars.co.uk.
