Twitter names our new truck
Inspired, or otherwise, by Boaty McBoatface, when we added an extremely green new transporter to our fleet it felt inevitable to ask Twitter to name it. After all, it's not often you get to see a very bright green truck.
We invited our 4,700 Twitter followers to come up with suggestions. Inevitably, TruckyMcTruckface featured along with LorryMcLorry face and a whole host of other options including Laurie, Renault Midlime (the truck is a Renault Midlum) and various frog-related ideas.
The best four were put to a Twitter vote and the most popular name chosen. So, thanks to Twitter, Great Escape Cars now has a new truck called Kermit. The winning suggestion received a road trip voucher worth £250 and their name on stickers adorning the brand new truck.
We run a fleet of five transport vehicles, including three twin-deck trucks and two 4x4s and trailers. This facility is unique in the classic car hire market and enables us to move cars anywhere in the UK. Our trucks support our TV and corporate event work too.
"A truck as green as this one needs a name and thanks to Twitter we have one," explains Graham Eason of Great Escape Cars. "Kermit will be put to work straight away supporting our TV contracts so expect to see it across the UK over the summer.
"You won't be able to miss it, certainly."
