Classic Brits join the Great Escape Cotswolds fleet..
We have added two more classic British cars to our large Midlands fleet based on the edge of the Cotswolds. The new additions put the Great in Great Britain when they were new in the early 60s, a MGB roadster and a Rover P4 100 saloon. Two quite different ways to enjoy the Cotswolds scenery, both great in their own way, we feel.
The Rover P4 110 was built when a Rover was something to aspire to, a conservative, solid and respectful car from a time when such values were ones to uphold. It may look conventional but with its Transatlantic 'suicide' rear doors the Rover is also quite innovative. The Great Escape car is finished in olive green with a matching leather interior and is perfect for a weekend away with friends or for a wedding - its high roof and rear-hinged doors mean you can virtually walk into it.
Our second new addition, the MGB, replaces a white MGB we had on our fleet and is part of our process of improving the quality of our vehicles. The new car, finished in a fetching shade of mid blue, is something of a classic car world star as it was fully rebuilt by the Practical Classics magazine team before being reassembled by the chaps from the Wheeler Dealers TV series at the NEC Classic Car Show in November 2013. The car was subsequently given away as a competition prize and we bought it from the winner two months after the show.
The MGB needs no introduction, its stylish lines, robust mechanicals and sheer ease of use make it perfect for a day or weekend away. Our car is a chrome bumper conversion with wire wheels and a manual overdrive gearbox. And it's a lot of fun.
These two cars are available to hire for £150 each for 24 hrs or £260 for 48 hrs. Every hire day includes 24 hrs use, unlimited mileage, insurance for 1 driver (extra drivers can be added) and full UK RAC cover.
"We're really pleased to have another four seater saloon on the fleet plus a very good condition MGB," explains Graham Eason of Great Escape Cars. "The Rover is a real treat to travel in and the MGB needs little introduction. It is a testament to the hard work put in by Practical Classics and the Wheeler Dealers teams."
