A day out at Goodwood
Sometimes at Great Escape Classic Car Hire we have to pinch ourselves. On Friday 17th September 2011 we took a trip to the Goodwood Revival 2011 to deliver 5 cars for a corporate client and then spend a day at the popular show.
Jamie, who runs our Yorkshire site, Russ who manages operations and Graham, who does something, travelled down to Goodwood in convoy with a transporting taking our Jensen, E Type convertible, XJS, Mini and TVR. After handing over the cars to our clients in Winchester, we travelled on to the show.
With every one of our classic cars from Worcestershire and Sufolk attending the event we were left to journey to the show in our not very classic but very dependable 2005 Jeep Cherokee tow truck.
Goodwood Revival never fails to amaze. We arrived as two Spitfires and a Hurricane looped overhead and millions of pounds worth of Rolls Royces ferried the well heeled to the show. Inside the show the site of thousands of people dressed in period attire and row upon row of car-related titivation made us almost gasp.
We strongly recommend a trip to Goodwood, even if you only like cars a bit. To see some of what we saw, Visit our Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/greatescapeclassiccarhire
And finally, congratulations to Jamie who celebrated exactly 1 year of satisfying and fulfilling (his words) self employment by attending Goodwood on Friday. Some said he would never find work as exciting, stimulating and fulfilling as he did in a big, old, cold mansion on a hill in Ilkley.
