A day in our Morris Minor Traveller 1000 really is a great escape, but it is definitely our most gentle option. Classic car hire should be about slowing the pace of life right down and enjoying the moment. The Morris Minor Traveller does just that and is perfect for a romantic getaway, whether it's a sitting on the back with a great picnic enjoy a great Cotswolds view, or pootling around the lanes. After a day in the Cotswolds taking pictures of the Morris Minor Traveller we know first hand that this lovely little car gets attention and creates smiles wherever it goes. Please note that, although entirely legal, the Morris is not currently fitted with seatbelts (as a 1957 car they weren't fitted when it was new).
The Morris is only available to hire from March to October.

The Great Escape Morris Minor Traveller is very unusual. Finished in rare Morris Dark Green - which was used for only a few years - it was built exactly 50 years ago in September 1957 and sold new to a family in Birmingham (it still has the dealer stick). It is a genuine one-family-from-new car that has covered less than 60,000 miles in 50 years, passing through the family to the grandson of the original owner. The Morris has been maintained but never restored, so it has a wonderful time-worn patina and that great old-car smell.
The Morris Minor Traveller 1000 was the MPV of its day and celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2008. It is a multi-purpose leisure-orientated alternative to the standard Morris Minor saloon. Its 'half timber' estate car rear section set it apart and two swing doors at the back made loading and unloading very easy. Its compact dimensions disguise a very spacious interior, helped no doubt by the lack of airbags, crumple zones and side impact beams. But with a top speed of about 60 - when the road is long enough - this wasn't a car built for speed in any respect.
For classic car hire the Morris is very easy to drive, with simple, precise controls and excellent visibility. And in the Morris, there is always plenty of time to study the road conditions!
