Cotswolds Morris Minor Traveller

Our Morris Minor Traveller based near Stratford Upon Avon is a 1957 1000cc car finished in dark green with an olive green interior.  One family owned from new, this car is available to hire in good but unrestored condition, to preserve its patina.  This car is totally standard - but please note that it is not fitted with seatbelts (it is perfectly legal).

Yorkshire Morris Minor Traveller

Our Yorkshire Morris Minor is finished in burgundy with a cream leather interior.  This car has been subtly upgraded to maintain traditional aesthetics but with concessions to modern comfort and convenience.  The car has a 1275cc Leyland engine, 5 speed gearbox and very comfortable seats from a Jaguar.

The Great Escape Morris Minor Traveller is very unusual.  Finished in rare Morris Dark Green - which was used for only a few years - it was built over 50 years ago in September 1957 and sold new to a family in Birmingham (it still has the dealer stick).  It is a genuine one-family-from-new car that has covered less than 60,000 miles in 50 years, passing through the family to the grandson of the original owner.   The Morris has been maintained but never restored, so it has a wonderful time-worn patina and that great old-car smell.

The Morris Minor Traveller 1000 was the MPV of its day and celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2008.  It is a multi-purpose leisure-orientated alternative to the standard Morris Minor saloon.  Its 'half timber' estate car rear section set it apart and two swing doors at the back made loading and unloading very easy.  Its compact dimensions disguise a very spacious interior, helped no doubt by the lack of airbags, crumple zones and side impact beams.  But with a top speed of about 60 - when the road is long enough - this wasn't a car built for speed in any respect.

For classic car hire the Morris is very easy to drive, with simple, precise controls and excellent visibility.  And in the Morris, there is always plenty of time to study the road conditions!
