Great Escape Classic Car Hire's Alfa Romeo Spider Series 4 was built by Pininfarina in June 1992, and originally sold new in Germany before being imported to the UK. Which makes it one of the last original Spiders made before the model was phased out in 1993.
Our Alfa Romeo Spider has covered only 60,000 kms (about 35,000 miles) and we think it has the best colour combination available on an Alfa Romeo Spider – metallic burgundy paintwork, tan interior and black hood. We acquired it in 2005 from a fastidious previous owner whose attention to detail included remanufacturing and replacing every visible screw head to ensure that they matched. Since then it has covered several thousand kilometres, including a 3,000 km trip to the Dordogne in 2006.
We have made several subtle upgrades to the car, including changing the exhaust system to improve throttle response, fitting polyurethane suspension bushes to reduce roll and fitting an original Alfa Romeo radio cassette player.
