ALFA ROMEO SPIDER CLASSIC CAR HIRE
The 2 litre Alfa Romeo twin cam was launched in 1971. Like most Alfa Riomeo engines it combines sufficient horsepower with plenty of torque to create an engine that has a wide power band. The car’s power delivery and chassis set up encourage rapid progress over a long distance rather than short bursts of exceptional speed. Which makes the Alfa Romeo Spider a relaxing classic car to hire.
The twin cam is an attractive engine to look at with a cast aluminium block bearing the familiar Alfa Romeo script. Its lightweight construction means that the Spider is never nose heavy and has good weight distribution, helped by the engine being set well back in the nose. Our Series 4 car features fuel injection, which improves fuel efficiency, reduces emissions and increases power. The car runs on unleaded fuel.
The engine works with a slick and precise five-speed gearbox operated by an unusual gear lever set almost horizontal in the dashboard. At first glance it looks awkward and unfamiliar but after a few miles most drivers prefer it to a conventional lever. The gearlever is always readily at hand and shifting up and down the box is a joy.
